Place search

Place names from GeoNames, licensed under CC BY 4.0, searched on your device. Postal codes and places GeoNames doesn't list are looked up with Nominatim using OpenStreetMap data (ODbL).

Species occurrence data

Regional species baselines draw on occurrence records published through the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF). Suggested citation: GBIF.org (2026), GBIF Occurrence Data, https://www.gbif.org. Individual records remain under their publishers' licenses. A formal download DOI has not yet been registered for these baselines.

Species photos

Reference photos are loaded from Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia. Each photo links to its original file page, where the author and license are listed. Photos remain under their original licenses (typically Creative Commons).
